Curls are the texture everything else gets judged against, and the hardest to fake. Get them right and nobody looks twice; get them wrong and it announces itself across a room. This is human hair, which is why these ones separate rather than clump, catch light properly, and still look like curls after you've slept on them.
Density up to 300%
This is the headline. Most wigs are built to 150% or 180%. This one starts at 200% and goes to 300% — roughly double the market standard at the top end.
Density matters more on curly hair than on any other texture. Curls occupy space, but they also leave gaps, and low-density curly wigs go see-through at the ends where the pattern opens up. At 250% and above the curls stack against each other and the shape stays full from root to tip.
An honest word on 300%: it is genuinely heavy. It gives you the biggest, fullest curls available, and it's spectacular in photographs — but if you're new to wigs, or you wear one all day at a desk, 200% or 250% will be more comfortable and still fuller than almost anything else on the market.
13x4 lace front
Thirteen inches across, four inches back — ear-to-ear coverage with proper parting space. Part it in the middle, sweep it to one side, or move the parting between wears without the cap edge showing. Laid and trimmed properly, the lace sits flat and the hairline reads as scalp.
Find your length
Sixteen inches through to thirty, measured stretched — and stretched is the word that matters. Curly hair loses a substantial amount of visible length to shrinkage, often a quarter to a third of the stretched measurement. A 24" curly wig sits noticeably shorter on you than a 24" straight one. If you have a target length in mind, size up. This is the single commonest reason curly wigs get returned.
Why it's worth buying
- Density you can't easily buy elsewhere. Very few sellers offer 300%. If you've been disappointed by thin, gappy curly wigs, this is the fix.
- Curls without the morning. This pattern on your own hair means a perm, or an hour with a wand every day.
- It protects your natural hair. No heat, no chemical processing, no daily manipulation — your own hair rests underneath.
- It's real hair. Washable, conditionable, revivable. Synthetic curls mat at the nape within weeks and never recover.
- Three densities, eight lengths. Enough range to get the proportion right for your face and frame rather than settling.
Looking after curly hair
Curly textures want the opposite of what straight hair wants, and this is where most wigs get ruined.
- Never brush it dry. Detangle wet, with conditioner in, using fingers or a wide-tooth comb, working from the ends upward. Dry brushing destroys the curl pattern permanently.
- Wash in sections. Sulphate-free shampoo, squeeze rather than scrub, and let water run downward through the hair instead of piling it up.
- Condition generously. Curly hair is drier by nature because oils travel down a coil slowly. A leave-in and a light oil on the ends does more than any curl-specific product.
- Air dry or diffuse on low. Scrunch, don't rub.
- Allow drying time. A 300% wig holds a great deal of water and takes far longer to dry than a standard one. Putting it away damp is how wigs develop a smell.
- Refresh, don't rewash. A spray bottle of water with a little conditioner brings the curls back between wears.
Real curls, at a density that keeps them full to the ends.
